he changed his mind too late

Mr Salter that is. Apparently he tried to persuade the party apparatchiks to stand down the Reading West selection and let him stand again - they refused, well done Mr Powers. As a consequence he refused to attend the selection meeting yesterday or have anything to do with it. There is a deafening silence on his website this morning - no statement of support for Nasty Naz, no "I look forward to campaigning with Naz in Reading" - and the Evening Post is going to print his spin tomorrow. Depressing really. I hope though that Dangerous Denise gets a good opportunity to be a candidate, she is excellent.

Howarth, Sutton and Singleton-White will be pleased he didn't change his mond as that would have damaged their chance of getting the Tory MP they want in Reading West. Labour's refusal to bow to Salter will have gladdened their little hearts.

Here's a tip : Don't give up the day job, Naz.
Saltire walked for a reason, a hard rain's gonna fall (on Labour).

I'm really sorry that Salter did not stand - the voters of Reading West would then of had the joy of very deservedly voting him out - apparently according to the non-entity thats been selected,Salter is 'whiter than white' over expenses - lol,I seem to remember hearing that phrase before by one Tony Blair - one which will no doubt come back to haunt Labour big time at the next General Election - and deservedly too.
