disinformation

well, possibly.  Here is Cllr Willis' take on on the local election campaign as it draws to a close (thanks for the mensh Richard).  I would say that he is right to note the lack of substance in Labour's campaign, and of course the lack of truth in most of it, and I am not surprised to be told that John Howarth has been brought back to "advise on campaigning".  Interesting to note that the Labour Group had a whip-round to pay for the campaign (leaflets free I suppose, as usual), and amusing to see Tony Jones (good to see you briefly in King's Road Reading on 9th April Tony) described as the "Comical Ali" of Reading politics.  We'll see.  It is quite likely that Reading Labour thought they would walk it and that they are not doing so.  Quite a few years ago they made the mistake of starting to believe their own propaganda.

Are the Chinooks circling over your villa, comrades?

This guy Richard looks like the Conservative MP he will no doubt be for somewhere - after the next General Election.

Hi Jane,

Yes, it was good to see you the other day - you looked fit and happy! Perhaps we can have that coffee and cake another day.

Some people think Richard (misleading & inaccurate) Willis is a pompous twit: actually I like him and he makes me laugh.

As for his epithet for me, I'm happy to give it out, so I'm happy to take it.

If this week goes as planned and expected in Redlands I will immediately throw my hat in to the circle for next year. I've enjoyed this campaign far more than expected. Glenn Goodall looks weak and easily beatable and, in any, event I expect him to be replaced as the next LibDem candidate.

Best wishes to you and significant other.

He tried that once before in 2005 in the easily winnable seat of Sutton & Cheam but failed to oust the incumbent Libdem. If he can’t win there what hope for him.

What has happened to that Rachel something or other who was being foisted on Reading by national Labour HQ?

There is a little cadre of them at the moment beign wheeled out on the regional stump to press the flesh of the local bumpkins - or so national HQ thinks, so that they can all vote for these people, in imitation of the sheep in Animal Farm. However, FOUR LEGS GOOD. TWO LEGS BETTER.

It looks like Swaine has now resorting to cheap attacks on his former colleagues. The only question is, will the announcement of him joining the Tories come before or after Thursday?

Swaine has been dogwhistling for ages - and we all know who to.

I have it on very good authority that the Tory hierarchy in Reading think he's a nutter.

Anon 1153 - I've heard this too; they'd expect him to be touring the pubs of Katesgrove at this time.

Tony: don't do it! Who else could and would do what you have been doing so well?
