missing the point
well, possibly, unless the house is legally owned and occupied and paid for not with money looted from the people of Libya. Quite a lot of unless. But the killing is going on. Ras Lanuf appears to have been retaken with serious loss of life. Is this genocide? No. Is it civil war? Probably, of a kind. Is it savage reprisal against an uprising? Almost certainly. The UN has met and gone "oh dear". Cameron is being a pussy, and not of the lolcats kind. Obama too. Hillary Clinton has said the US supports the rebels in Libya. With what? The West seems to be divided between the "I'll hold your coat" and "Leave it Gary, he's not worth it" pub car-park fight schools of argument. I'm waiting for someone to go "Right that's it I'm not f***ing having this". And the killing goes on. Gaddafy has allegedly sent envoys to Cairo, Athens and Vienna to seek mediation efforts. But who will talk to whom?

Not goign to happen.
Coaltion here is v unpopular. Republicans and Democrats don't want to go into a Presidential race with a new war on the go.
I think you will have to look to Sarko!
makes a change for France to stand up on something like this, ane obviously electoral popularity is more important than a bunch of brown-skin Arabs getting killed.
Doesn't make it good and certainly doesn't make it right. But this is the way it has always been - apart from the Tony Blair interim - and the waters have quickly closed over that.
The really good thing about George W. going was that we didn't have to keep wondering which Muslim country he was going to bomb to smithereens next. We cannot go back to simply invading Muslim countries where nasty dictators are doing nasty things. We have to find another way.
what nonsense. Tony Blair did not take anybody to war. Parliament voted for military action.
Tony Blair lied to facilitate it.
rubbish. and three independent inquiries, not me, say so. Were all the MPs (including me) who voted eight years ago deluded fools? some of us had thought about the issue and actually wanted it done. a majority of us voted for action. those are facts. now go away and read the racist Guardian and stop bothering me.
It is pointless asking me a question and then telling me to go away. And of course you were a deluded fool in some respects otherwise you would have kept your job.
merely indicating that while I will let through the occasional mendacious tiresome Guardianista to show what is out there, I have had enough of this particular one now, and "my" job? wtf? I have a job, thank you very much.
The Reading Labour Party were the deluded fools - de-selecting an MP who had increased her majority and sacrificing the seat - the ensuing exposure of bullying and corruption in the RLP then making it impossible to either a) regain Reading East or b) hold on to Reading West. So a full deck now for the Tories in Reading.
Happy deluded abuse thrower?
Or just unable to add two and two and make four instead of six, thirty or nine hundred.
So you're giving your permission for Libya to have a civil war but you don't think it's fair for the Gaf to use planes?
Either the UN gets full in or keeps it's nose out.
This me you are talking to Gid? If so answer no. And the UN is a chocolate teapot. NATO however does things properly. NATO and the Arab League can stop this. Together. And should. Now. Next?
I don't disagree with you. Either a non Libyan alliance takes him and his regime out or stays out. Talk of a namby pamby no fly zone is a bit like being served a jumbo shrimp.
