Was only asks
Talking of dead hands, just why would John Howarth be in regular correspondance with Rajinder Sohpal (former Labour councillor and RCRE bigwig) given that both appear on the face of it to have given up working for Reading Labour?

To get his(Howarths) hands on some of the public money Mr Sohpoal is adept at getting for RCRE.
You could almost feel sorry for Mr Howarth. Having lost his income from Martin Salter, when he stood down, together with Salter pimping Howarth's work round Parliament, then having lost his Council gravy train when the Tories and Lib Dems took over there. So he has to keep in with Sohpal otherwise where would Howarth get the income to support his two households?
good point,he probably got stung big by ex-wife - but is he council still giving him work? I heard they were and that the controlling group hadn't noticed
