dog whistle

you know what that means.  that's what it means here too.  this candidate, for Reading Labour in Church ward, was "born and bred" in Reading (she lives in west Reading somewhere) and is "one of us".  the Conservative councillor defending his seat in Church ward?  Azam Janjua.

Oh yes.

Yep. Woof. And is she also standing for the Parliamentary selection by any chance?

Why are you especially beastly about any and every woman that Reading Labour stands? Or is this your way of giving them a better chance?

"beastly"? Leaving aside the Enid Blyton turn of phrase, I do not know this person, and I care even less. I was remarking on the words on her leaflet. Which I do not think she wrote herself. And you know what they say.

I would say that Ms Eileen what's her name should watch out what's put on her election leaflets...like where you're born or grew up. Tsk Tsk, serious mistake there I'd say. Mrs Blair would not approve.

So, is it OK to be racist in support of a candidate if they are a woman? In what other circumstances is it OK to be racist?

I am disgusted you do not repudiate racism wherever you see it rather than post comments supportive to people who behave in a racist way.

I hope you are not calling Jane racist. Not only is she not racist, I think she does not even see colour!! The Reading boys tried that trick on with her when she was in Parliament and she engaged M'Learned Friend and won. Actually.

And 'beastly' forsooth. It will be lashings of ginegr beer next and Moonface in the Faraway Tree ( oh, sorry - excuse the reference to Salter).
