a correspondent writes about Margaret Moran

who left the House of Commons last year and who appeared in court yesterday re expenses.  I'm not going to reproduce the pictures of her used in the Daily Mail, even if I could, because it would be wrong and cruel.  Those who have been in court, and in several cases served time, are the ones who did not get the protection of the party and the establishment.  They are not the only guilty ones.  A correspondent who is no longer in the House writes:

Pictures of the above in the dock are horrific. Aged 90 or what? I am no excuser of wrongs - but the Party, as usual, has protected its own. Fat old chin wobbler ( and living room main-houser), Jacqui Smith gets glossier and earns dosh for BBC porn programmes. I'm nuts about Hazel, the big flipper, looks more and more like a cute Squirrel Nutkin. The male expense jailees are out - looking glossy. David corrupt Laws will never go in. Neither will the Fisher King, Salter. So she, wrongdoer though she may be -- is the one left to self destruct. Not 'protected' so might as well die...If her bloke was behind it, she should shop him now. He isn't going to prison, is he?!! For what it's worth - and I think it is, considering what SWINE most of them were, she was a good Whip. Decent to me -- not many people in that shithouse were.

She is a thief

Nobody is saying she is or she isn't. But what we are talking about is the double standard. Stand up, thief, Jacqui;thief Hazel;thief Laws. Jacqui Smith is getting paid by the BBC to make documentaries. Margaret Moran is probably going to prison. All the media wankers ever do is to debate when thief Laws is going back to Cabinet!! If one is going to prison then why not all the miscreants? WHy cherry pick? Or give them all bloody tv programmes!!

Yes - and what about dear Patricia, our ex Health Minister, who tried to hawk her access to the Government as expsoed in the undercover programme, Dispatches? She is now earning a MINT!!!!!

Everyone wants her to be a non exec Director of evrything. One law for on and one for another. I am beginning to think we are living in Iraq..........

Moran has behaved disgracefully and deserves no sympathy. They were all at it Cameron, Brown, Blair, Clegg, Salter and Griffiths. Greedy pigs.

why aren't they all going to prison then? Oh and boys, good to hear from you again after a long period of silence, what inspired you? But do keep it clean, this is a family blog, or tries to be. Death threats and porn will not be allowed. Reserve that for the Reading GC.

The reason they are at it again is that they are finding these comments rather too near to the bone.

Much easier to sling abuse at Margaret Moran that to face up to the much more difficult truth that the powers that be in political parties and the police, operate a double standard -- in that some people can break the law/behave disgracefully and continue, unhindered in their courses (stand up Smith/Salter/Hewitt/Hoon/Blears/ and probably, HUHNE etc) and others cna do the same -- or less and be condemned to toilet cleaning in Holloway.

Not nice, is it? And the boys don't like anybody bringing it into the open. Well - tough nuts. Its out and proud!!

My concern is for fairness and justice and the 'law' should be applied acrosss the board - not selectively.

its a good question why have people who have claimed for expenses they have not incurred or been entitled to not been prosecuted?

Jacqui Smith filling her fat face with cushions and patio heaters is sickening. But it was within the rules. Who voted for these rules. Oooh I wonder.

Well -see above -- and look at police corruption.
