thanks Josie babes

for the plug  - free publicity is always good.  Comes to something when there is wrangling in the council chamber in Reading over an item on my blog revealing what is widely known in Reading, that Jon Fatboy Hartley was the source of the leak of information about the Labour Group's trashing of the council chief executive for having integrity cost-saving reasons.  Thanks for reading, Josie babes, good to know you get your information about Reading from someone who lives 600 km away and has not lived in Reading since 2005.  A little suggestion to the Labour Group - focus on Reading and not on Strasbourg if you want to control the council instead of just pretending to as you are at present.  Oh and Josie - don't eat quite so many pies, and keep the vino intake down to a couple of bottles a day -  there's no speaking to you in the mornings, and it takes half a bottle to kill the hangover enough for you to function, so a respected council officer told me just the other day.

Why waste money on wine? Meths has the same effect and is cheaper.

Looking at your chronicle photo it appears she is not the only one wolfing down the pies.

I think you mis-understood the article, the Tories raised your blog as evidence, however none of the Labour councillors had read it. I presume they all rushed to after the council meeting though.

anonymous 1036, how do you know none of the Labour councillors had read it? did they all swear affidavits that they had not? and if none of them had, how could Lovelock say that I was writing fiction? very bizarre

Pies may come and pies may go but drink hounds will always be with us.

Sadly, one of the signs of a drink problem, is that people can say stupid and incorrect things when under the influence and not remember them. I was not aware that the same happened as a consequence of pie eating, but perhaps Anon 16.56 is a secret Pieist or pie eater and could enlighten us. Did Martin Salter eat pies? He was always a stranger to the truth as I recall - hence his expenses swindle.Clare Ward was a Piest too,I note....

Jane, you've got the wrong end of the stick again.
It was Willis who brought up the leak, speculating about who was responsible and quoting this very organ.
The Labour group, as one, rolled their eyes and groaned. Cllr Lovelock was forced to respond as it was a question in the council chamber.
It seems that it's the Tories who rely on a very distant and out of date source for their intelligence !

a statement has been made that none of the Labour councillors had read this blog, is that true? If not why make the statement? If so why was Lovelock commenting on something she knew nothing about? She wasn't "forced" to say anything at all about this blog. Poor loves. Stupid politicians.
